A simple rhythm for better focus

Choose one task and focus for 25 minutes. Take a 5-minute break, then begin again. After four focus sessions, enjoy a longer 15-minute break. Select each session when you are ready — nothing starts automatically.

Still runs entirely in your browser. No timer account or downloads are needed. See the privacy notice below for hosting and advertising information. Keep this page open for the timer and completion sound. Pink noise is generated on your device.

A minimalist timer for a quieter study space

Still brings a simple Pomodoro rhythm and optional pink noise together in one dark interface. The countdown stays at the center, with just three modes and clear start, pause, and reset controls. Use it for studying, writing, or focused work without creating an account or installing an app.

Pink noise, without a playlist

The background sound is a continuous, generated hush rather than a music track or a rain recording. Switch it on below the timer and choose a comfortable volume. Prefer silence? Leave it off. The audio player is independent of the countdown, so you can keep the same background during a break or switch it off yourself.

A dark mode study timer with no sign-up

Start a 25-minute focus session, then choose a 5-minute short break or a 15-minute long break when you are ready. Each session starts manually. The same lightweight interface adapts to desktop, tablet, and phone screens. Keep the page open; this version does not save your session when you close or refresh it.

Build a rhythm that works for you.

A Pomodoro is a short, deliberate work session followed by a break. Use the timer to give one task a clear beginning and end, whether you are studying, writing, coding, or making a start on something you have been putting off.

  1. Pick one specific task. Choose something small enough to make progress on in one session, such as outlining a paragraph or reviewing a few pages. Keep a note beside you for unrelated thoughts.
  2. Start a 25-minute Pomodoro. Close distractions and work on that task. If you need to stop, pause the timer; reset it when you want a fresh session. Switching between timer modes resets the countdown.
  3. Take a 5-minute short break. Look away from the screen, stretch, or get some water. Choose Short Break and start it yourself when you are ready.
  4. Rest longer after four focus sessions. Keep track of your sessions yourself, then choose the 15-minute Long Break. Return when you feel ready for another cycle.

Make the background your own

Switch on pink noise for a continuous, soft background sound. Begin at a low volume and adjust to your preference. Sound is optional and works independently of the timer, so remember to switch it off when you finish.

Keep the routine flexible

The countdown is a boundary for your attention, rather than a measure of your worth or productivity. If a task is too large, write down its next small step. Use your break to decide what to do next.

Find your next focused session.

A study timer for active learning

Give each 25-minute session a concrete question to answer. Read a short section, close your notes, then write what you remember. Use the last few minutes to check gaps and choose the next topic. A short break gives you a clear stopping point before another round.

A work timer for a crowded day

Choose a result you can describe in one sentence: outline the proposal, review one pull request, or draft a reply. Keep an interruption list nearby. When an unrelated task appears, note it and return to your chosen task until the session ends.

A writing timer when the page is blank

Start with a rough outline or a single paragraph. Let the first Pomodoro be a drafting session without editing every sentence. After a break, use another session to revise. Separate drafting from polishing so that each session has one job.

When 25 minutes does not fit

Still uses a fixed 25/5/15 rhythm. You can pause or end a session whenever needed. For meetings, collaborative work, or tasks where a break would interrupt a useful flow, use your judgment rather than following the countdown rigidly.

A few helpful answers.

Is Still free to use?

Yes. The timer and generated pink noise are available without a subscription or timer account.

Does the next session start automatically?

No. Each session ends with a visual message and, when audio is available, a short chime. Choose your next mode and press Start. Still does not automatically count completed sessions.

Will the timer work in another browser tab?

The countdown uses an end time to correct for delayed browser updates. The tab title shows the remaining time while the page runs. Browsers can suspend background tabs, especially on phones or when a device is locked. The display catches up when the page becomes active again, but a sound may be delayed. Keep the page open and the device awake when a timely alert matters.

Why can I not hear the completion sound?

Start the timer by clicking or tapping the Start button so the browser can enable audio. Check your device volume and tab mute setting. A browser that suspends the page may delay audio. The completion message also appears on screen.

Are my sessions saved?

No. This version does not save session history or settings. Refreshing or closing the page resets the timer. A countdown is independent in each browser tab.

What is pink noise?

Pink noise is a random sound with less energy at higher frequencies than white noise. Still generates it on your device using the Web Audio API; no audio recording is downloaded. You can toggle it and adjust the volume at any time.

Can I use keyboard shortcuts?

Press Space to start or pause, and R to reset. Shortcuts do not run while a button, slider, or expandable answer has keyboard focus. Use the arrow keys to move between timer tabs.

A quiet place to begin.

Still is a minimal browser timer designed around one simple action: give the task in front of you your attention. It combines three fixed session lengths, a readable countdown, and an optional sound background without requiring task lists or an account.

The interface uses a dark palette and restrained controls to keep the timer easy to find. It works on phones, tablets, and desktop screens. Still is an independent tool and is not affiliated with the creator of the Pomodoro Technique.

Timer and sound data

The current timer code processes your selected mode, remaining time, and volume in browser memory. It does not send session history or sound settings to an application database, use browser storage to save them, or include analytics trackers. Pink noise is generated locally.
